TEN YEARS AGO
Capt Brandt of Company C went to Owatonna this afternoon to attend a “war game” meeting there to night.
After an absence of many years from their old home in Germany Mr and Mrs George Lohse and Jacob Stean will leave next Tuesday for their native home. They will not return until next March.
Mr and Mrs Ed Schoniger entertained some twenty friends at cards Wednesday evening in honor of Miss Hattie Bartlett of Minneapolis.
Miss Bernice Murr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Murr of Fountain City and Alfred Biedler were married Wednesday noon at the home of the bride.
What rather proved a unique surprise Thursday evening to a number of friends, all members of the Whih-min club, when they gathered at the home of Capt and Mrsw R N Cassidy as invited guests to a party, occurred when the plate cards at the tables announced the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of the host and hostess of the evening.
Mrs M E Thornton, mother of W T Birdlebough, of this city, was this morning at St Mary’s hospital at Rochester operated on successfully for goiter.
The Ti-Ki club will this evening entertain at their annual Thanksgiving ball.
The United Workers of the Central Methodist church are this afternoon and evening holding their annual bazaar in the parlors of the church.
